60 something

It is amazing how you turn 60 without realising it you never notice the years passing. In my head I am in my twenties it’s just that my body is in it’s 60’s. Why is it that you only ever notice your age when someone kindly reminds you. I have my bus pass now, I remember the first time I used it. I didn’t really want anyone I knew see me with it, I got on the bus couldn’t see anyone I knew then “shock, horror” I recognised the bus driver he was my Son’s friend. Well my vanity went out the window after that and I haven’t bothered about it since, funny thing vanity, it takes over you in certain ways and makes you untrue to yourself.

I am retiring soon and it has taken me a long time to decide when, but now I know I am ready. I think I will enjoy it now that I have got things out of my system in my working life, I think I managed to achieve what I wanted to. I am going to enjoy every day to the full, it will be strange at first and I know I may be climbing the walls after a couple of months because I have always been in employment. I will just have to get used to each day and see where it takes me. I do have some hobbies on the go but never had enough time or the energy to do them, now I have no excuses. Hopefully my blog will get very interesting as time goes on, I like spur of the moment things and people who make me laugh, so let me see what mischief I can get up to ( watch this space )
